Defined by Maharshi Patanjali as "Tapah Swadhyaya Ishwara-Pranidhanani Kriyayogah" — Tapas (spiritual discipline), Swadhyaya (self-study), and Ishwara Pranidhana (surrender to the Divine) together constitute Kriya Yoga. It is the eternal journey from the finite to the Infinite.

Mithilesh Sankrit received initiation into Kriya Yoga in 1996 from Shibendu Lahiri, the great-grandson of Yogiraj Shyamacharan Lahiri Mahasaya, at the ancestral family temple in Varanasi. He currently resides in Jamshedpur and shares Kriya Yoga initiation and guidance with seekers across India.
